Social Noting – Intersubjective Mindfulness

In april zullen we ‘Social Noting’ oefenen, ontwikkeld door Vincent Horn van Buddhist Geeks. Dit is een ‘intersubjective mindfulness’-meditatie. Deze innovatieve methode komt voort uit klassieke Buddhistische traditie, maar is aangepast voor de huidige hyper-connectieve tijd. De sessie begint met een check-in van 5 minuten en een korte introductie van de methode, waarna we samen 20 minuten oefenen.

During the month of April we will be practicing Social Noting developed by Kenneth Folk and Vincent Horn from the podcast Buddhist Geeks. This is an intersubjective form of mindfulness meditation called Social Noting: “This innovative practice finds its roots in the early Buddhist meditative tradition, but is adapted for our hyper-connected age.” The sessions start with a 5 minutes check-in and a short instruction to the practice. Then we practice together for 20 minutes. Last 5 minutes for Q&A.

WEEK 3: this week we will be noting ‘mind states’ which basically means noticing emotions and attitudes.
WEEK 2: this week we were noting ‘thoughts’, however, not so much the content of thoughts, but the category, for instance: planning, memory, fantasizing, etc.
