You are invited to join the talk ‘The Climate Crisis and what to do about it’ 🐦🐍🐋

A talk about the reality of the climate crisis and environmental destruction, given by people involved with Extinction Rebellion. We will discuss some of the latest scientific facts and figures and explain what these mean for the planet, human beings and the Netherlands. We will talk about what we can do in the face of these challenges and give you the opportunity to start doing something!

Extinction Rebellion is a non-violent social movement and is active internationally. The aim of the Dutch wing is to let governments tell the truth about the profound consequences of the climate and ecological crisis, acts now to halt biodiversity loss and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2025, and lets citizens decide by establishing a Citizens’ Assembly to take the lead on climate and ecological justice. Je bent uitgenodigd om het praatje ‘de Klimaatcrisis en wat er aan te doen’ bij te wonen. 🐦🐍🐋

Een praatje over de realiteit van de klimaatcrisis en milieuvernietiging, gegeven door mensen betrokken bij Extinction Rebellion. We zullen een aantal recentere wetenschappelijke feiten en cijfers afgaan en uitleggen wat dit betekent voor de planeet, mensen en ons land. We zullen het hebben over wat hier aan gedaan kan worden en je de kans geven om iets te doen!

Extinction Rebellion is een geweldloze sociale beweging en is internationaal actief. Het doel van de Nederlandse tak is om de overheid eerlijk te laten zijn over de immense gevolgen van de klimaatcrisis en ecologische ramp die ons voortbestaan bedreigen, doen wat nodig is om biodiversiteitsverlies onmiddelijk te stoppen en de uitstoot van broeikasgassen te verminderen naar netto nul in 2025, en burgers laat beslissen over een rechtvaardige transitie door een Burgerberaad op te richten dat een leidende rol speelt in de besluitvorming.
