XR Netherlands is growing! Are your growing with us? Right now, we are looking for people to fill in several roles within our working groups you will find below. Writers – Outreach & Training

Role description:
Writing texts, most importantly for newsletters and for on the website

Skills/experience
Affinity for writing, advanced Dutch and English

Time investment
4-6 hours per week

Trainer for NVDA training – Outreach & Training

Role description
We want to train as many people as possible in NVDA before Rebellion Week. In an NVDA training, the legal as wel as practical aspects of NVDA are discussed. As a trainer, you’ll give NVDA training sessions hosted by the different XR groups in the Netherlands.

Skills/experience
Some experience with NVDA is required. If you’ve given trainings in NVDA before, that is a big advantage.

Time commitment
6+ hours a week. You will need to a four-hour training March 31st and another three-hour online training (date TBA).

Location
Trainings will take place across the country.

MEMBER WELLBEING TEAM – Regenerative culture

Role description
Within a team you will take care of wellbeing within the action group. This comprises things like distributing water and snacks (where needed), secure belongings (bags, phones, etc.), lend out supporting items (blankets, umbrella’s, etc.), take on and process requests for help, First Aid, etc. At the same time you actively contribute to a nice atmosphere during actions by offering emotional support, cheering for the first line activists and having chats with bystanders.

Skills/experience
– You enjoy taking care of others
– Social skills
– Responsible and patient
– First Aid diploma (not required)
– Experience in taking action is welcomed but not necessary

Time commitment
6+ hours per week

Location
– Internet: Zoom (video chat) meeting every other week
– For physical meetings the group decides on the next location

MEMBER ARRESTEE SUPPORT – Regenerative culture

Role description

When someone gets arrested, your job is to stay close until this person is being taken to the police station. You make sure the arrestee feels supported and inquire for any help requests. Furthermore you inform where the arrestee is taken, you go to that place and wait. When the arrestee comes out, you offer support and care. This is a team effort, done by alternating members.

Skills/experience:
– You enjoy taking care of others
– Social skills
– Responsible and patient
– First Aid diploma (not required)
– Experience in taking action is welcomed but not necessary

Time commitment: 6+ hours per week

– Internet: Zoom (video chat) meeting every other week
– For physical meetings the group decides on the next location

COORDINATOR WELLBEING TEAM AND/OR ARRESTEE SUPPORT – REGENERATIVE CULTURE

Role description
Within a team you are responsible for coordinating the well being team and/or arrestee support. You inform/prepare people fort their tasks, supply background information and materials and make sure all communication lines are clear. You are stand-by for consultation by phone with other coordinators and team members. You monitor the wellbeing of your team (giving support can be very demanding!) and when needed you arrange replacements. Within the wellbeing team, in turns people have a back guard task to collect and distribute by phone, any information about arrested rebels.

– Experience in taking action is welcomed but not necessary

Time commitment
12+ hours per week. Mainly during actions. Prior to actions you attend and offer relevant XR trainings. At first the duration is until end of April when the Intl. Rebellion Weeks from April 15 – 28 are over. But don’t fear you will get bored afterwards, because a nice quantity of actions will follow soon!

Open vacancies – REGENERATIVE CULTURE

Role description
During the XR-NL actions lots of people are needed for supporting the event with slogans, banners, applause, songs, love and fun. XR is very serious about her demands towards the government, but in the streets we will certainly have a party!

Skills/experience
– The main qualifications for an XR Rebel are non-violence an love.

Time commitment
As much as possible during actions. At first the duration is until end of April, when the Intl. Rebellion Weeks from April 15 – 28 are over. But don’t fear you will get bored afterwards, because a nice quantity of actions will follow soon!

Location
Spread over the Netherlands. During Rebellion Weeks the main focus of the actions will be in The Hague, Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

Makers – Arts in Action

Role description:

We’re looking for creative people – artists, theatre makers, designers, writers, musicians, and people from any other creative discipline – who would like to help us increase the visibility of Extinction Rebellion Nederland. You are welcome to bring your own ideas or contribute to existing creative projects.

Skills/Experience:
No experience necessary.

2+ hours a week

Makers – MEDIA (PRODUCTION)

Role description:
Lend your creative skills to Extinction Rebellion Nederland! We are looking for writers,
photographers, designers, bloggers, videographers, editors and more to join the Media team.

Skills/Experience:
Some experience in your creative field is required.

Time commitment:
2+ hours a week

WEB DEVELOPERS/ADMINS – MEDIA (INFRASTRUCTURE)

Role description:
Help our infrastructure team on the design and development of web apps, the management of
websites and our collaborative and communication tools.

Skills/Experience:
Some experience in your field is required.

Time commitment:
4+ hours a week

PRESS RELATIONS – MEDIA

Role description:
Help communicate all the amazing work we are doing to the media. You will need to be reliable,
organised, have good attention to detail and possess good written communication skills (Dutch
and English).

Skills/Experience:
No previous experience needed.

Time commitment:
4+ hours a week

Location:

Finance officer (2 people) – Action & Logistics

Role description:
-Controlling finance system
-Setting up Crowdfunding

Skills/Experience:
Financial experience needed.

Time commitment:
4+ hours a week

Location:

Location Outreach Officers (2-4 people) – Outreach and Training

Role description:
– Contact libraries, community centers, student associations and churches if they want to host a XR workshop/talk.
– When one of the contacts responds positively: find a speaker to do the workshop/talk.

Skills/Experience:
No previous experience needed. You will be introduced to the software/system. Speaking/writing Dutch is an advantage.

Time commitment:
4+ hours a week

Speaker – Outreach and Training

Role description:
– Give a talk/workshop to a group of people every week / once every two weeks

Skills/Experience:
No previous experience needed. You will be trained to do this. Fill in the form and we will contact you for training dates, or join a spreaker trianing yourself.

Time commitment:
2 hours a week

Location:
In your region

Speaker coordinator (1 person) – Outreach and Training

Role description:
– Stay in touch with speakers after the training.
– Call speakers to ask them if they are ready to give a talk. And if they can help them set up a talk themselves.
– Set up come-back meetings for speakers
– Gather feedback on the workshop/talk

Skills/Experience:
Previous experience with the XR-talk/training is an advantage. You will be introduced to the software/system.

Time commitment:
8-12 hours a week

Location:
Remote

Phone bank coordinator (1 person) – Outreach and Training

Role description:
– Setting up (social)meetings for phoners (once every 2 weeks)
– Making call sheet from the sign-up forms with the Post-talk integrator

Skills/Experience:
Previous experience with phone-banking is an advantage. You will be introduced to the software/system.

6-10 hours a week
