The CC discusses many different topics.\u00a0However, the CC can&#8217;t just make decisions for another group. The mandate (document) of each group therefore states what they are allowed to decide on.\u00a0You can learn exactly how that works at a sociocracy workshop.\u00a0Workshops can be found on our\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/extinctionrebellion.nl\/en\/events\/\"><span>events page<\/span><\/a><span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Because there are so many national circles, the CC can fill up quickly.\u00a0That is why there are thematic groups.\u00a0Those are groups of two to six circles that have similarities.\u00a0They work together, support each other and can sometimes start larger projects together.\u00a0A thematic group also consists of the representatives and coordinators of the circles that belong to it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Usually representatives and coordinators from the same thematic group take turns going to the CC. As a result, the meeting can be more efficient and the representatives and coordinators have more free time. For that reason it is also important that the circles in a thematic group have something in common with each other. Then the circles understand each other better. That way, the representative or coordinator of one circle can also represent the other(s).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>In short, you can think of the national circles and thematic groups as a kind of family tree.\u00a0Imagine that circles of the same thematic group are like siblings.\u00a0That &#8220;family tree&#8221; looks like this.\u00a0First the CC, then the thematic groups, then the national circles and finally the sub-circles.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25761\" src=\"https:\/\/extinctionrebellion.nl\/app\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Afbeelding1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"2207\" height=\"3408\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span>There is also a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/extinctionrebellion.nl\/en\/structure\"><span>list of national circles on the website<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0with information about what they do.\u00a0Below you will learn about the thematic groups.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span>Action Support<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span>In XR (eXtinction Rebellion) we try to work without hierarchy and power. No one in XR controls what actions can and cannot happen.\u00a0As long as an action follows\u00a0<\/span><span>\u00a0our\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/extinctionrebellion.nl\/en\/about-us\/#:~:text=that%20support%20our-,principles%2C%20values,-and%20mission%3A\"><span>principles, values<\/span><\/a><span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/resources.extinctionrebellion.nl\/media\/XRNL_NVDA_Guide.pdf\"><span>other agreements about actions<\/span><\/a><span>, the XR name\/flag may be used.\u00a0To enable\u00a0<\/span><span>\u00a0such actions, the\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>Action<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>Legal<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0circles offer their assistance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span>Messaging<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span>A simple blockade with only our logo does not always convey the message well. People need context to understand why we are taking action.\u00a0The message can be made clearer with words and images.\u00a0This is what the circles <\/span><strong><span>Art<\/span><\/strong><span> and\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>Media &amp; Communication<\/span><\/strong><span> (M&amp;C) work on.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span>Culture<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/extinctionrebellion.nl\/en\/about-us\/\"><span>We say our system is toxic.<\/span><\/a><span> That means we have to challenge ourselves to do better. We need to look in the mirror at ourselves and at the world we grew up in.\u00a0In this way we can recognize mistakes and learn from them.\u00a0That way we can continue to grow together.\u00a0To make our movement resilient, non-hierarchical and self-aware, the circles of <\/span><strong><span>Inclusion &amp; Power<\/span><\/strong><span> (I&amp;M) and\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>Regenerative Culture<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0(Rain) work together.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span>Mobilisation<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span>To make our goals a success, we need to stand up in large numbers.\u00a0We must therefore encourage others to be on the same side.\u00a0This can be done, for example, with information, support and collaboration. The circles that reach out to others to stand strong together are\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>Collaboration<\/span><\/strong><span> (Collab)<\/span><span>,\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>Political Representation<\/span><\/strong><span> (PolRep), <\/span><strong><span>Integration<\/span><\/strong><span>, <\/span><strong><span>International Link<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0(IntLink) and\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>Outreach &amp; Training<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0(O&amp;T).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span>Strategy<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/extinctionrebellion-nl.translate.goog\/over-ons\/?_x_tr_sl=nl&amp;_x_tr_tl=en&amp;_x_tr_hl=nl&amp;_x_tr_pto=wapp#:~:text=WE%20VOOR%20STRIJDEN-,ONZE%20EISEN,-0.%20KLIMAATRECHTVAARDIGHEID%20VOOR\"><span>Our demands<\/span><\/a><span> are clear: Wees Eerlijk (Be Honest \/ Tell The Truth), Doe Wat Nodig Is (Do What Is Necessary \/ Act Now) and Laat Burgers Beslissen (Let Citizens Decide \/ Go Beyond Politics). But how can we make them come true? We want our actions to have a real impact on the world and politics. So that we can make the necessary changes together before time runs out. This is the responsibility of the circle\u00a0 <\/span><strong><span>Politics, Strategy and Change<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0(P&amp;S) and the sub-circle\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><strong><span>Citizens&#8217; Assembly Expertise<\/span><\/strong><span>\u00a0<strong>Group<\/strong> .<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span>Support<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span>A lot of support is needed to enable rebel activities across the country. Such as, for example, funds, finance, IT and technology. This allows local groups and national circles to fulfill their tasks.
