Have you been to a Heading for Extinction talk and now you want to learn more about how to involved in XR and contribute to the movement? Join the introduction session and become part of the movement! We love new rebels!

Extinction Rebellion (XR) is a non-violent movement which surprises with their actions to wake up fellow citizens and governments to the climate and ecological crisis. EVERYONE can join our movement as long as you share the same sentiments about loss of biodiversity and the climate crisis. ’Time is running out’ is the consensus.

PROGRAMME

• A short reminder of the XR values.
• Explanation of organisation structures / the circles (Media & Messaging, Outreach & Training, Action & Logistics, Regenerative Culture, Arts in Action, Political Strategy, Finance, Tech and Legal Team, Finance, Radical inclusivity)
• Talking to the members of all the circles. Someone of most circles will be present to give you a head start and answer questions. Join any circle you want!

LOCATION

Amsterdam, on the Middenweg 22bg in East. You enter from the street side, follow the tunnel and then you enter the courtyard garden. In the back is the building of de Sering. Be careful not to make any noise in the garden! Our neighbors can hear everything, and we like to stay on friendly terms with them. Unfortunately, the location is not wheelchair-accessible.

If you’d like to meet more XR people you can combine this talk with ‘Dinner with XR’ at the same location. After meeting all the rebels from the different circles, the dinner after the intro session is the perfect chance to ask them all the questions you have!

HEADING FOR EXTINCTION AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT

In this talk we will focus on XR, but won’t cover all the facts about the climate crisis. If you are keen to know more about the science, we invite you to the ‘Climate Change: Heading for extinction and what to do about it’ talk, earlier that evening.

• Praten met verschillende leden van de circles. Ze kunnen precies aan je uitleggen wat ze doen en jij kunt al je vragen stellen. Sluit je bij een Circle aan, als je wilt!

LOCATIE

We zitten in Amsterdam, op de Middenweg 22bg in Oost. Via de straatkant kom je binnen, je volgt dan de tunnel en dan kom je in de binnentuin. Achterin staat het gebouw van de Sering. Zorg dat je geen geluid maakt in de tuin! Onze buren kunnen elk geluid horen, en we houden ze graag te vriend. De locatie is helaas niet rolstoeltoegankelijk.

DINER

Wil je meer mensen van XR leren kennen, dan kun je deze lezing combineren met ‘Dinner with XR’ op dezelfde locatie. Nadat je jouw mede-rebellen uit de Circles hebt ontmoet, kun je lekker eten en ondertussen jouw mede-rebellen het hemd van het lijf vragen!

HEADING FOR EXTINCTION AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT

Tijdens deze info sessie, gaan we met name XR bespreken. We kunnen het niet over alle feiten over het klimaat hebben. Weer je daar meer over weten, dan is er diezelfde avond nog een praatje hier over.
