Wij zijn de EnergieCrisis Coalitie en we luiden de noodklok! Amsterdam staat vol met slecht geïsoleerde en slecht onderhouden woningen. Veel mensen in Amsterdam leven in energiearmoede. Niet alleen stijgen de energieprijzen, ook hebben veel woningen een energielabel E of lager.

Op zowel korte als lange termijn is investeren in isolatie de meest duurzame optie. De gemeente wil liever iedereen op stadswarmte en heeft een deal gesloten met Vattenfall om dit te realiseren. De wooncorporaties zijn blij dat ze hierdoor geen verantwoordelijkheid hoeven te nemen. Voor de mensen die zich blauw betalen om in een warm huis te kunnen leven, is er geen alternatief.

Om druk te zetten op de gemeente en de wooncorporaties en voor de gemeenteraadsverkiezingen het gesprek bij te sturen, komen wij in actie! Wij gaan samen met de huurders van de Van der Pekbuurt, die door dit probleem het hardst getroffen zijn, naar Ymere, de meest gehate wooncorporatie van Amsterdam. Wij willen dat ze verantwoordelijkheid nemen door in te zetten op isolatie van sociale huurwoningen. Zolang ze niet naar ons luisteren zullen we blijven terugkomen.

Wij eisen dat politieke leiders en het bestuur van Ymere komen met een noodplan! We nodigen bewoners, activisten en sympathisanten uit in Amsterdam-Noord om deze problemen te bespreken. Kom gezellig op de koffie bij Ymere. Samen laten wij zien wat we van ze vinden. Voor de goede moed zal er ook iets te eten geserveerd worden.

We are the Energy Crisis Coalition and we are raising the alarm! Amsterdam is full of badly insulated and ill-maintained homes. Many people in Amsterdam live in energy poverty. Not only are the energy prices rising, a lot of houses also have an energy label E or lower.

Both on short as well as on longer term, investing in insulation is the most sustainable option. The municipality would rather have everyone on district heating and has made a deal with Vattenfall to realize this. The housing corporations are happy that they do no have to take any responsibility because of this. For those who are paying a lot of money to be able to live in a warm home, there is no alternative.

To put pressure on the municipality and the housing corporations and to shift the conversation before the municipal elections, we are taking action! Together with the tenants of the Van der Pekbuurt, who have been affected by this problem the most, we will go to Ymere, the most hated housing corporation of Amsterdam. We want them to take responsibility and make an effort to insulate social housing. If they don’t listen to us we will keep coming back.

We demand that political leaders and the direction of Ymere deliver an emergency plan! We invite tenants, activists and sympathizers to Amsterdam-Noord to discuss these problems. Come and have a nice coffee at Ymere. Together we will show what we think of them. For good spirit there will also be something to eat.
