In July 2025, Palestine Action was proscribed in the UK as a terrorist organisation, because it took direct action to protest the British complicity in genocide. That ban must be overturned.
Supporting Palestine Action is now considered a criminal offense under the Terrorism Act. Anyone holding a sign reading "I oppose genocide – I support Palestine Action" while sitting down in silence, will be prosecuted for terrorism.
Which is exactly what we're going to do.
Since 2020, Palestine Action have demonstrated the effectiveness of nonviolent direct action: the group broke into Israeli arms factories and military bases, hitting the war industry where it hurts. By damaging weapons, technology, and other equipment, they prevented these arms from being used to slaughter Palestinian civilians.
The group is proscribed as a terrorist organisation. Due to the draconian Terrorism Act, supporting Palestine Action is also classified as a terrorist offense, punishable by up to 14 years in prison.
We intend to commit that offense. We are willing to risk that 14-year prison sentence. And we are not alone!
XR Justice Now! is joining forces with Defend Our Juries, the group opposing this ban. Like thousands of resistance fighters before us, we'll sit silently on the ground, holding a sign that reads: "I oppose genocide – I support Palestine Action" – or a translation thereof, in the spirit of international solidarity.
What's happening in the UK today, will happen in the Netherlands tomorrow. This attack on democracy, designed to protect a genocidal regime, must be stopped.
