New rebels are welcome

Guerrilla Fashion The Hague is giving away clothes to the shopping public at the Mall of the Netherlands in Leidschendam, with all the bells and whistles we can muster.

Since 2023, Guerrilla Fashion has been giving away clothes to protest fast fashion. The fashion industry is responsible for up to 8% of global CO₂ emissions, a third of all microplastics in the ocean, a fifth of global water waste and the inhumane treatment of both workers in the production chain and employees in stores.

Despite a lot of talk about sustainability on its website, The Mall of the Netherlands houses almost a hundred fast fashion stores (and one second-hand clothing store), making it an excellent target for a demonstration. Our previous demonstration in this shopping mall was a spectacular success, but the stores are still there, still polluting our planet and dehumanising their own employees and labourers throughout the production chain.

The action is low-risk. There will also be no-risk roles.
