New rebels are welcome

Better public transportation is a no-brainer: it’s good for the climate, socially beneficial, and immediately gives people without cars, those with disabilities, young people, and the elderly greater freedom of movement. But right now, public transportation is becoming increasingly expensive and inaccessible, and “unprofitable” stops are simply being eliminated. At WijReizenSamen, we—travelers and climate activists—actively seek to collaborate with the people who make public transit possible: bus drivers, tram operators, and NS employees. Together, we ask ourselves: why does public transit actually have to turn a profit? After all, highways don’t have to, do they? And how can we, by joining forces, turn the tide together?

Vegan dinner at 18.30
Workshop from 19.00

Charlotte from WijReizenSamen Delft will talk about how we can build solidarity with people who, on paper, are natural allies (public transit workers) but who, in practice, often raise their eyebrows at first when a climate activist joins them. How do you bridge that gap, and why would you do that in the first place? We’ll also discuss the nationwide public transit strike on June 24 and how we can make our voices heard in Delft. It will be an interactive workshop where your knowledge and input are incredibly valuable!
