Extinction Rebellion and Greenpeace Netherlands hold peaceful protest against pollution by Schiphol Airport

Amsterdam, 5 november 2022 – More than 500 activists from Extinction Rebellion and Greenpeace Netherlands have been grounding private jet traffic from Schiphol Airport since 12:40 hours. Activists are cycling on the platform where private jets are parked and block the planes with their bodies. Extinction Rebellion and Greenpeace Netherlands want fewer flights, more trains and a ban on unnecessary short haul flights and private jets. The activists plan to block air traffic at the private jet terminal for as long as possible.
