As scientists, we have been ringing the alarm bell about the climate crisis for decades. We wrote letters, signed petitions, and gave talks. But governments did not heed our warnings, and year after year, emissions continued to rise. We are moving into uncharted and terrifying territory. “Any further delay in concerted action”, as the latest IPCC report notes, “will miss a brief and rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a liveable and sustainable future for all.”
Scientist Rebellion is an international movement of scientists who are extremely concerned about the climate and ecological crisis and believe the scientific community has the responsibility to step up and join the forefront of the climate movement. It is a sister organization of Extinction Rebellion, and respects its principles and values.
