Op vrijdag 15 september komen leerlingen, studenten, leraren en docenten massaal naar Den Haag om te staken voor het klimaat. Wij eisen een einde aan de fossiele subsidies, want we hebben recht op een leefbare toekomst. Kom ook!
We vragen op het Malieveld aandacht voor de klimaatcrisis met een uitgebreid programma met activisten, schrijvers, wetenschappers en muziek. Niet alleen in Den Haag komen op 15 september bezorgde burgers bijeen. Over de hele wereld vinden bijeenkomsten plaats voor het klimaat, want het is dan de dag van de Global Climate Strike.
Deze mondiale klimaatstaking wordt georganiseerd door Fridays For Future (FFF), een beweging gestart door Greta Thunberg. In Den Haag wordt de manifestatie georganiseerd door FFF, XR Onderwijs, Teachers for Climate en Scientist Rebellion.
Vanaf 11.30 uur kun je op het Malieveld terecht voor een uitgebreid onderwijsprogramma met onder andere:

Door de verbranding van fossiele brandstoffen als olie, gas en steenkool wordt het steeds warmer op aarde. De gevolgen hiervan zijn rampzalig: extreme hittegolven, meer en langere periodes van droogte, stortregens, overstromingen, bosbranden, mislukte oogsten. Het vreemde is: de Nederlandse overheid blijft de fossiele industrie steunen alsof er niets aan de hand is. Ieder jaar helpt onze overheid de industrie met 30 miljard euro aan subsidies. Dit moet ophouden. Daarom komen we op vrijdag 15 september naar Den Haag. Kom ook!
Ben je leerplichtig en wil je naar deze manifestatie? Je school of opleiding kan jouw afwezigheid toestaan. Ga het gesprek aan met je mentor of een ander contactpersoon op school en leg uit waarom het belangrijk is dat je naar deze manifestatie gaat.
Er is ook een brief waarmee je formeel een vrijstelling van school kunt aanvragen. Download deze brief op www.klimaatstaking.org, pas die aan met jouw gegevens en stuur hem op naar je school. Het is verstandig om deze brief samen met je ouder(s) of verzorger(s) te lezen en aan te passen.
Met onze manifestatie staan we op het Malieveld. Tegelijkertijd blokkeert Extinction Rebellion de A12 die langs het Malieveld loopt. Goed om te weten: onze onderwijsmanifestatie is aangemeld bij de autoriteiten en is niet disruptief.

On the Malieveld we will draw attention to the climate crisis through an extensive program with activists, writers, scientists and music. Concerned citizens will gather not only in The Hague on September 15. All over the world climate demonstrations will take place, because that is the day of the Global Climate Strike.
This global climate strike is organized by Fridays For Future (FFF), a movement started by Greta Thunberg. In The Hague, the event is organized by FFF, XR Education, Teachers for Climate and Scientist Rebellion.

Due to the burning of fossil fuels such as oil, gas and coal, the earth is getting warmer. The consequences are disastrous: extreme heat waves, more and longer periods of drought, torrential rains, floods, forest fires, crop failures. The strange thing is: the Dutch government continues to support the fossil industry as if nothing is going wrong. Every year our government helps the industry with 30 billion euros in subsidies. This has to stop. That's why we are coming to The Hague on Friday, September 15. Join us!
With our manifestation we are on the Malieveld. At the same time, Extinction Rebellion is blocking the A12 that runs alongside the Malieveld. Good to know: our education manifestation is a legal demonstration, so it is registered with the authorities and is not disruptive.
